The field for the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic has been announced.
The event, which takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut every November, is an eight-team event that features two four-team tournaments. The headlining event will include Purdue, Florida, St. Joseph’s and Old Dominion, with Florida and St. Joe’s squaring off on one side of the bracket while Purdue and ODU do battle on the other.
In the other bracket, Vermont and Niagara will square off for the right to face the winner of Buffalo and North Carolina A&T in the final.
Florida is probably the biggest name in the event, but Purdue will be the favorite entering the weekend. The Boilermakers got A.J. Hammons back for his senior season and, if they can land a point guard on the graduate transfer market, will likely end up being a top 25 team come the fall.
