Rick Barnes has picked up his first commitment as head coach at Tennessee on Tuesday, as three-star point guard Lamonte’ Turner pledged to the Vols.

“Thank God for this opportunity and also my parents and coaches for believing in me,” he tweeted. “I am officially committing to the U of Tennessee!”

Turner, an Alabama native, is ranked No. 101 in the Class of 2016, according to Rivals. On Monday, the 6-foot-2 guard announced that he would be reclassifying into 2015, meaning that he will be able to enroll at UT in the fall.

Turner joins Shembari Phillips and Admiral Schofield in Tennessee’s 2015 recruiting class. Phillips and Schofield both committed to the program when Donnie Tyndall was the head coach and decided to honor those commitments when Barnes was hired.

Turner played his high school ball at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
