A former conference foe is reportedly in the mix for former Duke shooting guard Rasheed Sulaimon, who is eligible to play next season.

Maryland, one of the favorites in the Big Ten next season, is one of “10-15 schools recruiting” Sulaimon, according to Jeff Ermann of InsideMarylandSports.com. Ermann also reported that Arizona State, Oklahoma and Texas are among others involved.

Sulaimon was dismissed by from the team on Jan. 29. for being, “unable to consistently live up to the standards required to be a member of our program,” according to head coach Mike Krzyzewski. The school paper, the Duke Chronicle, filed a report in March that two female students accused him of sexual assault during the 2013-14 academic year. Coach K declined to address those allegations.

Maryland is already bringing in an impressive crop of newcomers, including Georgia Tech transfer Robert Carter Jr. and five-star freshman big man Diamond Stone. The Terrapins were also among the biggest winners of the early entry period, as both leading scorer Melo Trimble and top rebounder Jake Layman pick another season in College Park over the 2015 NBA Draft.

The 6-foot-4 former McDonald’s All-American averaged 7.5 points in 20 games for the Blue Devils during his shortened 2014-15 season.
