On Friday afternoon, Gonzaga announced that Przemek Karnowski will be returning for his senior season.

“After talking with my family and the coaching staff, I decided what’s best for me is to stay at Gonzaga for my senior season,” Karnowski said in a statement. “I decided I didn’t want to pass up my last opportunity to play with these guys at GU. My coaches, teammates and the whole community have been so supportive over my three years, and I’m excited to come back for one more. I love Gonzaga, and we still have a lot left to accomplish.”

Two weeks ago, fellow big man Domantas Sabonis decided to come back for his sophomore season.

Neither of these decisions are a surprise by any means, but it’s important for a Zags team that graduates the back court of Kevin Pangos and Gary Bell, in addition to Byron Wesley.

Mark Few is still waiting decision of Kyle Wiltjer, the 6-foot-10 junior forward who averaged 16.8 points and shot 46 percent from three in his first season in Spokane. Wiltjer is one of eight top players who remain undecided.

The 7-foot Karnowski averaged 10.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game as a junior.
