12-year old bracket winner gets that trip to Hawaii after all

ncaa tournament printable bracket 2015

It turns out, Sam Holtz will be heading to Hawaii after all.

Holtz is the 12-year old that won ESPN.com’s bracket challenge, beating out some 11 million other brackets to win thanks to Duke’s national title. But being that he’s not 18 years of age, he was disqualified from the drawing that would have given him a shot at either a $20,000 gift card to Best Buy or a free trip to Maui for the Maui Invitational.

He was eventually given a $1,000 gift card by Best Buy and a gift bag from, but his rewards aren’t yet done being given out.

On Monday, Scout.com announced that they would be donating a trip for Holtz, his brother and his parents to Kaanapali Alii Resort in Maui for a week-long vacation.

“I’m pretty excited,” Sam told Scout. “I’m still thinking that this isn’t real.”

Not a bad haul for a kid that wasn’t old enough to win a bracket pool.

Maybe he can make my picks for me next year.
