Starting point guard Nigel Williams-Goss won’t be the only player leaving the Washington program this spring.

As first reported by Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com, guard Darin Johnson and center Gilles Dierickx have also been granted a release from their scholarships and will be transferring. Like Williams-Goss, Johnson will have two seasons of eligibility after sitting out the 2015-16 season at the school of his choice.

As for Dierickx, who began his college career at Florida International, the 7-footer will have just one season of eligibility remaining. The three transferring Huskies joins seniors Mike Anderson and Shawn Kemp Jr. as players leaving Lorenzo Romar’s program this offseason.

Johnson made just one start last season, averaging 4.4 points in just over 17 minutes of action per game. As for Dierickx he didn’t see much playing time even with Washington’s lack of interior size, averaging one point and 1.5 rebounds in 9.9 minutes per game.

With these departures Washington will be a young team in 2015-16. Andrew Andrews and Jernard Jarreau will be their most experienced players, with six newcomers (five freshmen and junior college big man Malik Dime) joining the program.

There’s definitely talent in the 2015 class, led by the aforementioned Dime, shooting guard Dejounte Murray and forward Marquese Criss, and they’ll need to contribute immediately for Romar. After making three straight NCAA tournament appearances from 2009-11, Washington hasn’t been back since. With that being the case, having multiple departures doesn’t help project an image of stability.
