Kentucky head coach John Calipari has been elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, while Wisconsin head coach Bo Ryan fell short of making it, according to multiple reports.

An official announcement for the new Hall of Fame class is expected on Monday morning.

The 56-year-old Calipari has made six Final Four appearances with three different programs, including four trips in the last five seasons at Kentucky. Calipari won his first, and only, national championship in 2012 at Kentucky. Final Four appearances at UMass in 1996 and Memphis in 2008 were later vacated by the NCAA.

NCAA official records put Calipari’s career coaching record at 593-174.

Besides a successful college career, Calipari coached for three seasons with the NBA’s New Jersey Nets, where he compiled a 72-112 record before being fired 20 games into the 1998-99 season.

Besides Calipari and Ryan, 10 other finalists are up for induction into the Hall of Fame in 2015, including Tim Hardaway, Spencer Haywood, Kevin Johnson, Lisa Leslie, Dikembe Mutombo and Jojo White. Other coaches up for induction include Leta Andrews, Bill Fitch and Robert Hughes. Veteran NBA referee Dick Bavetta rounds out the list of finalists.

To make the Hall of Fame, candidates have to have 18 of 24 votes from the Honors committee.

The enshrinement ceremony will be held in Springfield, Massachusetts on Sept. 11.
