Sunday’s matchup between No. 7 Wichita State and No. 2 Kansas was a big deal in the state of Kansas, as the two programs hadn’t met since January 1993. The Shockers won in Omaha, advancing to their second Sweet 16 in the last three years.

And that achievement earned them a locker room visit from Kansas Governor Sam Brownback, who made it clear where his allegiance lies with the T-shirt he was wearing.

During the game Gov. Brownback wore a grey T-shirt with both the Wichita State and Kansas logos on the front. However some fans weren’t too thrilled with either the governor’s locker room visit to the locker room or his appearance on the CenturyLink Arena video screen during the second half of the game.

Why wouldn’t some be too thrilled with the governor? Well, he holds degrees from Kansas State (undergraduate) and Kansas (law school). But hey, if Kenny Chesney and Drake can pull off such switches why not the governor?
