The 2015 NCAA Women’s NCAA Tournament bracket was announced on Monday night as UConn earned the No. 1 overall seed.

Geno Auriemma’s two-time defending national champions enter the tournament as the heavy favorite after going 32-1 this season. They defeated opponents by an average of 42 points a game this season. Auriemma is trying to win his 10th national championship, which would tie him with UCLA’s John Wooden for the most all-time.

The Huskies are the top dogs in the Albany Regional, which also features Kentucky, Louisville and Cal.

Joining UConn as No. 1 seeds are Notre Dame, South Carolina and Maryland.

The Fighting Irish (31-2) fell to the Huskies when both teams were undefeated entering last season’s national championship game as UConn won, 79-58. The former Big East rivals also played during the 2014-15 regular season with the Huskies also winning that one by 18 in South Bend.

South Carolina (30-2) is another No. 1 seed who has faced UConn this season as the Gamecocks fell in Storrs by 25 points on Feb. 9. Dawn Staley’s team started the season 22-0 before the loss to the Huskies. The Gamecocks are No. 1 seed in the Greensboro Regional which also features Florida State, Arizona State and North Carolina

Maryland (30-2) has won 24 consecutive games and went a perfect 18-0 in the Big Ten this season. The Terrapins lost to fellow No. 1 seed Notre Dame, 92-72, on Dec. 3, their final loss before the winning streak. Maryland draws the Spokane Regional, where they have to get past Tennessee, Oregon State and Duke.

Also of note is undefeated Princeton (30-0). The Tigers are the 15th team to enter the women’s NCAA Tournament unblemished and enter as a No. 8 seed. The Ivy League champions will face No. 9 seed Green Bay in the opening round.

The only team to beat UConn this season, Stanford (24-9), earned a No. 4 seed in the Oklahoma City Regional, which also features Notre Dame, Baylor and Iowa.

The 2015 Women’s NCAA Tournament also marks a change in host sites as the top 16 seeds will have home games for the opening two rounds for the first time since 2003.
