There’s been chatter that VCU is in danger of missing out of the NCAA tournament, closing out the regular season 5-5 after Briante Weber tore his ACL. Then, the Rams opened the Atlantic 10 Tournament, struggling against Fordham.

With 11 minutes to go in the second half, Richmond led by eight. The Rams would rally to take the lead, 62-60, with 1:38 remaining off a Doug Brooks 3-pointer. Richmond would knot the score only to have Mo Alie-Cox respond with an and-1 in the lane.

Melvin Johnson scored 23 points off the bench, hitting all five of his threes in the first half. Kendall Anthony had a game-high 26 points in his final conference game.
