Marquette lands commitment from three-star Class of 2015 guard

2014 Nike EYBL. Session #2. Dallas.

Marquette landed a commitment in the 2015 class on Monday afternoon as three-star guard Sacar Anim announced his decision at his high school.

The 6-foot-4 guard out of DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis, Anim chose the Golden Eagles over a recent offer from Northwestern. A lot of mid-major programs were also prominently involved.

Anim played with the Howard Pulley Panthers in the Nike EYBL and averaged 11.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game in 21 league games last spring and summer. The guard shot 43 percent from the field, 26 percent from 3-point range and 75 percent from the free-throw line.

Joining Anim in Marquette’s 2015 class is McDonald’s All-American and skilled in-state big man Henry Ellenson, another Wisconsin product in center Matt Heldt and Florida native and wing Haanif Cheatham. Recently, the Golden Eagles lost a commitment from a guard when in-state product Nick Noskowiak opted to decommit.

This is a quick effort to replace Noskowiak from head coach Steve Wojciechowski and his staff to land an immediate replacement. This four-man class should contribute next season to Marquette and the front court in particular has a chance to shine.
