GAME OF THE NIGHT: Manhattan 70, Iona 67

These games at Draddy Gymnasium, with Manhattan’s Sixth Borough in the stands, brings out the best in a rivalry that doesn’t get enough attention. Another fast-paced, back-and-forth contest came down to the wire on Friday night with Iona heading the 9.3 miles back to New Rochelle with a 70-67 win.

With 32 seconds left, A.J. English stepped into a go-ahead 3-pointer, proving to be the deciding bucket.

Emmy Andujar would hit a pair of free throws, countered by two from David Laury.

THIS ONE WAS GOOD TOO: Kent State 76, Toledo 75 (OT)

With 21 seconds remaining, Kent State led 64-57, but 20.6 seconds later, the Golden Flashes were on the verge of a major collapse as freshman Toledo freshman Stuckey Mosley stepped to the line with a chance to complete a 3-point and the unlikely comeback. However, Mosley missed and the game went to overtime. Kris Brewer scored the last five points for Kent State to leave with the win.

IMPORTANT OUTCOMES

Valparaiso 63, Green Bay 59

The Crusaders have won five games in a row since losing to Green Bay on Jan. 23. Valpo now holds a one-game lead over the Phoenix in the Horizon League standings.

Denzel Livingston, Incarnate Word: For the second straight game, the nation’s second-leading scorer logged all 40 minutes. And for the second straight game, the nation’s second-leading scorer went for more than 30 points. The 6-foot-4 senior went for 31 points, five boards and six assists in a win over Central Arkansas.

Schadrac Casimir, Iona: Better get to know how to pronounce and spell this name. The soon-to-be MAAC Rookie of the Year exploded for 22 points, off 7-of-11 shooting (4-for-6 from three) with four boards, two assists and no turnovers.

T.J. McConnell and Stanley Johnson: The senior point guard recorded his first double-double -- 10 points and 10 rebounds -- in an Arizona uniform while the freshman wing dropped 20 points and grabbed eight boards in Arizona’s bounce-back win over Washington.

STRUGGLED

Washington: Make it six consecutive losses for the Huskies. The seventh-ranked Wildcats raced out to an early lead and cruised to a double-digit win. Washington allowed Arizona to shoot 53 percent from the field.

Keifer Sykes, Green Bay: One of the top mid-major players looked better suited for Friday Night Fights not the Horizon League matchup that preceded it. The Green Bay guard had a bandage over his eye and remained on the bench in the final minutes with ice on his left hand. He was also just 2-of-13 for seven points in 30 minutes.
