Five-star Class of 2016 forward Harry Giles is going to be a serious threat to be the No. 1 player in the class and the North Carolina native has recovered nicely from an ACL injury to have a dominant junior season.
At 6-foot-10, Giles is emerging as an impact player on both ends of the floor and his upside is huge. On Monday night, the No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2016, according to Rivals, cut his list to eight as Giles is down to Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, Syracuse, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Ohio State and UNLV. While cutting a list to eight schools might seem like an attention-seeking move, it actually serves as an important part of the recruiting process. Elite prospects are trying to eliminate many of the schools contacting them with unnecessary interested that isn’t being reciprocated.
Now Giles can take some unofficial visits and see where he wants to take his five official trips before his college decision. Giles is in a battle with Thon Maker, Jayson Tatum and Josh Jackson for the No. 1 spot in the Class of 2016 and the top of that class has a lot of elite talent.
After returning from an ACL injury last spring, Giles played 13 games in the EYBL with Team CP3 and averaged 10 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game.
