Turner and CBS have announced that Bill Raftery and Grant Hill will join Jim Nantz in the booth to call the 2015 Final Four.
This is great news for college basketball fans that have grown to love the man known as ‘Raft’, who has become one of the most popular broadcasters in the business. He’s the man that popularized terms like ‘Onions!’, ‘nickel-dimer’ and ‘a little lingerie on the deck’. He’s also the announcer that gave us the legendary call ‘Send It In Jerome’ when Jerome Lane shattered the back board on this dunk:
Raftery has been working the NCAA tournament for CBS for 33 years.
Hill, on the other hand, has never called an NCAA tournament game before, although he does do color commentary for Turner’s NBA broadcasts. Hill was an all-american at Duke in the early 1990s, winning a pair of national titles in 1991 and 1992.
