Two players on Southern Miss have been declared ineligible as the fallout from an investigation into the program continues to spread, according to multiple reports.

WHLT in Hattiesburg broke the news that Rasham Suarez and Jeremiah Eason were declared ineligible by the NCAA, who has been in town investigating the program. The core issue regarding the ruling for Suarez, who starts and averages 7.4 points, and Eason, who averages 2.9 points in 25 minutes, in the legitimacy of the work they did to gain initial eligibility, according to ESPN.com.

ESPN is also reporting that Matt Bingaya, Shadell Millinghaus and Davon Hayes are being investigated for improper financial aid they received while with the program.

The issues stem from a investigation into Donnie Tyndall’s tenure with the program. Tyndall is now the head coach at Tennessee, but this investigation as already cost him an assistant coach that followed him to Knoxville from USM.

The Golden Eagles, now coached by former Nebraska head coach Doc Sadler, are 6-12 this season and just 1-6 in Conference USA.
