A nice story this week from AP writer Tim Reynolds about Miami head coach Jim Larranaga reaching out to a former Hurricane player in hospice care.
Larranaga called and spoke with 88-year-old Jim Palma earlier this week. Palma played one season with the Hurricanes in the ’40s and passed away on Sunday morning from complications with Pancreatic cancer. Before he passed, Palma got a chance to talk to Larranaga, who dedicated the game against Duke to him.
Without giving much more of it away, you should read this story and hear about a nice gesture from Miami’s head coach.
