Patrico Garino scored 14 points and Joe McDonald added 12 as George Washington won the Revolutionary Rivalry, 63-53.

The Colonials improve to 14-4 overall and 4-1 in the Atlantic 10, just a game off of the pace set by VCU and Dayton. There are two keys to the season for GW this season: Kevin Larsen and their three-point shooting. All three of GW’s starting perimeter players are sub-30 percent shooters from beyond the arc, which creates problems for them in half court offense. On Saturday, they hit six threes, three of which came from McDonald.

Larsen is as skilled as any big man in the Atlantic 10, but he has a nasty habit of trying to do too much in the post. He scored just seven points and only took four shots against Mason, just two days after going for 22 points and 11 boards in the win over Richmond.
