During his short stint at Arizona, four-star power forward Craig Victor didn’t see much in the way of playing time. With starters Kaleb Tarczewski and Brandon Ashley firmly entrenched into their roles, a sixth man in Rondae Hollis-Jefferson capable of playing multiple positions and the emergence of freshman Dusan Ristic, there weren’t many minutes available for Victor.

Add in the work Arizona’s done in the 2015 and 2016 recruiting classes thus far, and that was unlikely to change. Victor averaged 3.1 points and 1.1 rebounds in just over seven minutes per game this season, appearing in eight contests.

With that being the case the New Orleans native decided to transfer, and on Friday Victor picked his new school. According to multiple reports Victor will enroll at LSU, picking the Tigers over Oklahoma State.

Victor essentially joins a 2015 recruiting class that features five-star prospects Ben Simmons and Antonio Blakeney, with the former Wildcats likely being eligible next January. Victor played five minutes in Arizona’s 74-49 win over Arizona State January 4.

He joins a front court that won’t lack for depth next season, but there is an important question to answer in that regard. Will either (or both) starting forwards, Jordan Mickey and Jarell Martin, look to turn pro at the end of the current season? If both return to Baton Rouge next season, they’re obviously going to be (along with Simmons) the feature big men for LSU.

That’s a question that won’t be answered officially until the spring, and should Johnny Jones lose either of those two (or both) the addition of Victor will help LSU’s interior depth.
