Arizona is losing a highly-touted freshman forward as the school announced in an official release that Craig Victor will transfer from the program. A native of Louisiana, the 6-foot-8 Victor averaged 3.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game in 7.1 minutes per game with the Wildcats.

The problem for Victor is playing time now and also in the future. While Victor didn’t play in six of Arizona’s 14 games so far this season, the future doesn’t look much brighter. Boston College transfer Ryan Anderson will be eligible to play his senior season at forward next year and the program also brings in big man Chance Comanche in its Class of 2015 recruiting haul.

The Wildcats even have a forward commitment in the 2016 class from California native T.J. Leaf, who offers a stretch option that Victor can’t bring to the table.

A former four-star prospect, Victor was regarded as the No. 40 overall prospect in the 2014 class by Rivals and will be very sought after on the recruiting trail as a transfer.
