Tennessee is on the board in the 2016 class as the Volunteers and head coach Donnie Tyndall picked up a commitment from three-star forward Romello White on Monday night.

The 6-foot-8, 210-pound native of Suwanee, Georgia is playing this high school season at IMG Academy and announced his collegiate decision on Twitter:

White is regarded as the No. 102 overall player in Rivals’ Class of 2016 national rankings. The Georgia native burst onto the national scene this spring and summer playing in the adidas Gauntlet with Stackhouse Elite and also spending some time with the Georgia Stars. The forward wasn’t always productive, but he continued to show improvement over the course of the grassroots season and had decent showings at national events like the adidas Unrivaled Camp and adidas Nations this summer.

A willing rebounder who will play with physicality, White has to improve his offensive skillset, but he’s a solid positional defender and rebounder who has a lot of room to grow as a player. This is Tennessee’s first commitment in the 2016 class and a nice piece to build around for the rest of the class.
