Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim announced on the ACC telelconference on Monday morning that center Dajuan Coleman will redshirt this season.
“He’s not going to play this year,” Boeheim said. “He’s had some soreness and stiffness the last couple practices.”
Coleman has not played for the Orange in almost a year due to knee issues that he’s been dealing with. He had surgery to try and repair the issue, but he’s still working his way back into shape. He’s been practicing, according to Syracuse.com, but he’s yet to reach a point where he doesn’t have to sit some drills out.
“It’s official as far as I’m concerned,” Boeheim said. “Unless something radical happens, except I don’t think it will.”
