Dayton used a balanced scoring effort from its starting lineup as the Flyers raced past Duquesne with an 81-55 victory on Saturday. In the Atlantic 10 opener for both teams, Dayton’s starting lineup scored 78 of the team’s 81 points as all five starters finished with at least 13 points.

Sophomore guard Kyle Davis paced Dayton (11-2, 1-0) with 17 points while Scoochie Smith, Jordan Sibert and Dyshawn Pierre all had 16 points. Kendall Pollard also chipped in 13 points as the Flyers only played seven players on Saturday.

Duquesne struggled with its perimeter shooting as they only shot 5-for-22 from beyond the arc. Derrick Colter, the nation’s leading 3-point shooter, was only 1-for-4 from distance on the afternoon.

Jeremiah Jones led the Dukes with 10 points.
