Cincinnati redshirt freshman Jamaree Strickland will transfer from the program, according to a release from the University. In a report from Nathan Vicar from Fox19, the 6-foot-10, 270-pound center will likely seek more playing time.
“We wish Jamaree the best going forward,” Cincinnati head coach Mick Cronin said.
The native of Oakland, CA went to prep school in North Carolina before redshirting and only appearing in less than one minute of one game this season against Morehead State. Strickland didn’t make a major impact for the Bearcats and can hopefully find a program that can help him develop and earn playing time because he’s massive and still has three years of eligibility.
This will open up a scholarship for Cincinnati and you can’t blame them for trying to make it work with a center as massive as Strickland.
