Wake Forest is losing a member of its rotation as sophomore guard Miles Overton is transfering. The Demon Deacons announced the departure of the 6-foot-4 Overton in an official release.

“Miles came to me today and requested his release,” Manning said in the release. “We have granted him the release and wish him well at the next stop in his basketball career.”

Overton averaged 5.1 points and 1.7 rebounds per game in his sophomore season. The Philadelphia native could be opting to play closer to home with this transfer.

“It was a tough decision to leave behind a brotherhood that I had built with my teammates the past two years and to leave a fan base that has supported me and watched me grow,” Overton said in the release. “But after talking with my family, I believe it’s best for me to leave Wake Forest and continue my career closer to home. I wish my teammates, coaches and the basketball program the best.”
