Five-star 2015 forward moves college decision from December until spring

During the season, recruiting slows down significantly, particularly for the senior class that didn’t sign during the November signing period. But Ohio native and five-star 2015 forward Carlton Bragg was toying with the idea of making a decision in December between his finalists of Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky and UCLA.

It seems like the No. 14 prospect in the 2015 class, according to Rivals, has changed his mind and will announce in the spring. According to a report from Chip Miller of Zag’s Blog, Bragg will wait and bypass that rumored December announcement.

“I was going to do it in December but stuff got changed,” Bragg said to Chip Miller at the Marshall County Hoop Fest.

Considering that Bragg might still want to visit and see some games of each team -- and he’s smart to wait and see who leaves for the NBA -- this is probably a smart decision for him. Now the forward can get a feel for if certain players at each school leave in the front court and Kansas and Kentucky have very deep rotations of big men. UCLA has a player who could leave in Kevon Looney. Things could really change in this recruitment between now and the spring.

Since Bragg is a five-star player, he can dictate his own decision since he’s a very desirable prospect. If he becomes more consistent, Bragg will be a player with a ton of potential to produce right away.
