Tennessee center Dominic Woodson will not play on Saturday as the Volunteers take on Kansas State in Knoxville.

The Tennessee athletic department released a statement on the matter on Saturday afternoon:

“Tennessee basketball coach Donnie Tyndall has announced that sophomore forward Dominic Woodson has been excused from team activities this past week to focus on academic obligations. Due to missed practice time, Woodson will not dress for Saturday’s SEC/Big 12 Challenge game against Kansas State.”

Woodson transferred to Tennessee this season after leaving Memphis. He was granted immediate eligibility by the NCAA because he scholarship was not renewed by the Tigers.

Woodson is averaging 3.5 points and 2.8 boards this season.
