Arizona State received its first commitment in the Class of 2016 in the form of 6-foot-6 wing Brendan Bailey from American Fork High (Utah).

Josh Gerson of Scout.com was first to report the news on Sunday night.

“I thought it was the best fit for me,” Bailey told Gerson. “I just had such a great relationship with the whole entire coaching staff and a lot of other people there. I just thought it was the best place for me to become person and basketball player.

“I think I’ll fit in great because they play the same style of basketball that I like to play. They get up and down, which I like to do, and they shoot a lot of threes and I like to do that also.”

Bailey’s sister, BreElle, is a member of the Sun Devils volleyball team.

The 6-foot-7 Bailey is rated as the No. 79 overall junior by Rivals.
