No. 9 Virginia scored 45 points on Saturday night -- in the entire game, not just one half -- and still managed to cover the 18 point spread.
Why?
Because Rutgers did not look like a real college basketball team. They scored just two points in the final 15:54. They scored just eight points in the second half. They shot 25 percent from the floor and were 0-for-13 from three.
Virginia wasn’t much better, either. They were trailing at the half. They were up 26-24 at the 15 minute mark. They “put the game away” with an 8-0 “run” in the 10 minutes they held Rutgers scoreless in the second half.
