Indiana moved to 4-0 Saturday night with an 85-72 win over Lamar in Bloomington, but there was another important piece of news to be mindful of. Sophomore Devin Davis, who was struck by a car driven by teammate Emmitt Holt on November 1, returned to Assembly Hall for the first time since the accident.

Davis sat behind the bench with his father, and according to Zach Osterman of the Indianapolis Star Davis’ teammates didn’t know of his return until after they’d completed pregame shootaround. Davis was in the locker room, where he surprised them upon their return.

“We were happy. We were all jumping on him,” junior guard Yogi Ferrell said. “He’s like a brother to us, known him forever. Just glad to see him back out there with a smile on his face.”

Davis is still rehabbing in his hometown of Indianapolis.
