The first major snowstorm of the 2014-15 college basketball season has impacted the travel of some teams, most notably the Niagara women’s team that wound up stranded for nearly 24 hours earlier this week. Thursday afternoon it was announced that a game scheduled for Friday has been postponed as a result of the heavy snow in western New York.

Montana State, which was scheduled to play at Buffalo Friday night, has been unable to get a flight from Los Angeles to Buffalo. As a result the game has been postponed, with Buffalo stating in its release that the schools remain hopeful that the contest can be rescheduled. Montana State played at CSUN on Wednesday, falling to the Matadors by the final score of 72-65.

According to the Buffalo News ten people have lost their lives as a result of the snowstorm, and in some areas a driving ban remains in effect.
