The Niagara women’s basketball team lost to Pittsburgh 70-54 on Monday night. The Purple Eagles left following the game to make the near four-hour drive home, and as of Tuesday night, they were still middle of their trip home.
Wednesday morning it was reported that the bus has been dislodged, and the team is on its way back to campus.
A snowstorm has closed the I-190 Niagara Thruway, a stretch of 112 miles at a standstill.
Rene’e Polka, the director of basketball operations for Niagara, has been posting updates from her Twitter account throughout the day.
There are 24 people riding on the team bus.
