Shaka Smart continued cleaning up on the recruiting trail on Thursday afternoon as four-star small forward Tevin Mack committed to the Rams.

Mack is the second recruit in the Class of 2015, joining fellow four-star Kenny Williams. Williams is known as a shooter, while Mack is one of the better pure scorers in the country at his position. He’s ranked No. 77 in the class, and he picked VCU over defending national champion UConn, among others.

It’s an interesting fit for the Rams, as Mack isn’t exactly known for being a next-level athlete or an excellent defender, which makes you wonder whether Shaka sees Mack as the next Treveon Graham or Brad Burgess. Mack isn’t as strong as either of those two right now, but weight and strength are something that Shaka’s boot camps and Navy SEAL workouts could help with.

When you take the two commitments that Smart has in the Class of 2015 and combine that with the talent he brought in for the Class of 2014, the future looks very, very bright in Richmond.
