Just over two weeks after it was reported that ULM freshman forward Roderick Taylor was being charged with forcible rape, a grand jury has rejected the charge after deciding that that Taylor should not have been charged according to the Monroe (Louisiana) News-Star. Taylor, who was suspended from Keith Richard’s program indefinitely at the time of his arrest, will now await the results of the school’s mandatory investigation into the incident.
According to the report Taylor, a native of Harker Heights, Texas, has done his coursework at home since being charged. ULM returns two key front court contributors in forward Tylor Ongwae and center Marvin Williams, and Taylor was one of three front court newcomers expected to provide the Warhawks with additional depth in 2014-15.
Whether or not Taylor can join the program at any point this season clearly depends upon the results of the school’s ongoing investigation.
