The hype is very real at Auburn as the Tigers sold out basketball season tickets for the first time since 1999-2000, according to a report from Brandon Marcello of Alabama.com.

To put that in perspective, Marcello offered up a noticable statistic in his story. Auburn had the second lowest attendance in the SEC last season and only averaged 5,823 fans per game and failed to sell out a game. Now, in Pearl’s first season, the Tigers have sold 5,800 season tickets alone and will likely have much better support this season. Auburn already sold out its exhibition game on Friday against West Alabama.

It’s exciting for a fan base to revitalize like this, and even if Pearl struggles to win some games with a roster full of new players this season, he’s already looking like a strong hire for Auburn because fans are buying tickets and showing interest in the program.

The Tigers open under Pearl against his former program, Milwaukee, on Nov. 14.
