The fallout from the NCAA’s investigation into Donnie Tyndall’s tenure at Southern Miss has already started.

Just hours after news broke that Tyndall was being investigated for violations during his time in Hattiesburg, top 100 forward Chris Clarke made public the fact that he has decommitted from Tennessee and pledged to Virginia Tech.

VirginiaPreps.com was the first to report the news.

Clarke is the No. 71 prospect in the Class of 2015, according to Scout.com. He announced his commitment to the Vols last week, news that made waves around the recruiting world as Tyndall had finally landed an elite prospect in Knoxville.

Clarke, who is from Virginia Beach, will instead head to play for Buzz Williams and the Hokies. He’s a perfect fit, too. A 6-foot-6 wing, Clarke plays and competes as hard as anyone in the country. He’ll thrive under Williams.

This is the third commitment in the class for Virginia Tech, joining big man Kerry Blackshear and point guard Justin Robinson.
