Over the years black has become a popular alternate jersey color in sports, with many teams sporting the uniforms for a special “blackout” night or to simply show off a different look. Sunday the Xavier athletics department Twitter account sent out a tweet of basketball players James Farr and Remy Abell wearing the team’s new black uniform.

A simple look, with a navy blue “X” on the sides of the shorts. The question now is which game (or games) will head coach Chris Mack have his players wear the black jerseys. Xavier wore white (home), navy (road) and grey (alternate) uniforms last season.
