It wasn’t just college basketball programs that were holding midnight madness events this weekend.
Prime Prep Academy, the controversial charter school co-founded by Deion Sanders, held its third annual season kick-off on Saturday night at Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, Texas.
Prime Prep’s top player, Terrance Ferguson, a five-star shooting guard in the Class of 2016, won the dunk contest. If you’ve seen Ferguson on the grassroots circuit, all-star games such as Under Armour’s Elite 24 or even with USA Basketball, you know this isn’t a surprise by any means.
The 6-foot-6 Ferguson is listed as the No. 8 overall junior recruit, according to Rivals holding offers from the likes of Arkansas, Baylor, Louisville, Kansas, Oklahoma State and SMU.
