Half of the Rivals150 top 10 is made up of a elite big men. On Friday afternoon, like several of his fellow 2015 five-star recruits, power forward Ivan Rabb cut his list to a group of finalists.
Arizona, California, Kansas, Kentucky and UCLA all made the cut according to various media outlets with Paul Biancardi, ESPN‘s national director of recruiting, tweeting out the list first. Eliminated from contention were Georgetown and North Carolina.
Rabb, the 6-foot-9 forward from Bishop O’Dowd High (California), will visit Lexington, Kentucky this weekend, according to Steve Jones of the Courier-Journal. The Wildcats have one commitment from four-star shooting guard Charles Matthews, and could very well be in need of some front court help next season with several of Kentucky’s bigs projected as NBA draft picks. UCLA has a talented back court duo of Price Ali and Aaron Holiday set to join the program in the fall of 2015. Kansas and Cal don’t have any commits at the moment, but Cunozo Martin does have five-star guard Tyler Dorsey, the former Arizona commit on campus this weekend.
Arizona has arguably the nation’s best recruiting class with three, five-star prospects and most recently a pledge from center Chance Comanche, a top-35 recruit.
Rabb is listed as the No. 7 overall player in the Class of 2015, according to Rivals.
