UConn won their second national title is 2004, blowing out Paul Hewitt’s Georgia Tech team on the shoulders of Emeka Okafor and Ben Gordon.

That fact might be lost on some folks, however, as the most memorable game from UConn’s run in the 2004 NCAA tournament actually came in the National Semifinals.

Five years after Khalid El-Amin and the Huskies had shocked the world with a win over overwhleming favorite Duke in the national title game, Jim Calhoun’s club overcame first half foul trouble for Okafor and erased a 75-67 deficit in the final three minutes of the game to reach the finals:

Another interesting fact about that game? Chris Duhon’s one-legged, 40-foot, banked-in runner at the buzzer was arguably the most important shot of the game as it allowed Duke to cover the spread and resulted in as much as $100 million changing hands.

The entire game can be viewed here.
