Kyle Wiltjer has yet to make his official debut with Gonzaga after sitting out last season following his transfer from Kentucky. But the 6-foot-9 stretch forward is generating plenty of buzz up in Spokane, Washington this past week.
On Thursday a video went viral of Wiltjer hitting 70-of-75 threes (93 percent). He followed up that shooting clinic with a world record shot. Seriously. Wiltjer shattered the world record for the longest behind the back shot. And he did it twice. A video uploaded to Wiltjer’s YouTube page, Gonzaga forward Angel Nunez stated that the world record was 24 feet. He nearly doubled it with a behind-the-back shot from half court. The Guinness Book of World Record recognizes Kenneth Sorvang of Norway with the farthest behind-the-back shot (23 feet, nine inches), which he sunk on Dec. 10, 2010
