It’s a moment that no one will ever forget.

Conference USA title game. Old rivals Memphis and Louisville squaring off with a trip to the NCAA tournament on the line for John Calipari’s crew. Brash, talented Memphis freshman Darius Washington Jr. gets fouled shooting a three-pointer at the buzzer. The Tigers are down two.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more pressure-packed situation than that.

Washington steppex to the line, hit the first and proceeded to leave the next two shots short.

The following moment was tough to watch live and is still tough to watch today. Washington crumples to the court in tears, inconsolable as his teammates try to carry him off the floor. It’s a moment in time that he will never live down. It’s the one thing in his life that he will always be remembered for.
