Marquette sent out a press release on Wednesday announcing that Gabe Levin, a transfer from Loyola Marymount, would be transferring out of the program.

Levin was supposed to redshirt the 2014-2015 season and become eligible next year.

“We wish Gabe nothing but the best as he pursues other opportunities to continue his career,” head coach Steve Wojciechowski said.

Levin, who is 6-foot-7 and 230 pounds, averaged 11.2 points and 7.2 boards as a freshman at LMU, making the all-WCC freshman team. He picked Marquette over Northwestern, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech in June.

This is the second straight season where Marquette has lost a transfer during their first semester in school. Last year, Jameel McKay transferred out of the program in October.
