Duquesne added a key piece in the 2015 class as 6-foot-7 power forward Nakye Sanders committed to the Atlantic 10 program, according to Stephen J. Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The Staten Island native attends Tottenville High School and is a three-star prospect according to Rivals.

Sanders took an official visit to Duquesne’s campus last weekend after unofficially seeing Drexel, Rhode Island, Seton Hall and VCU. He averaged 17 points and 19 rebounds per game as a junior at Tottenville and played for New Heights on the grassroots circuit.

Duquesne is entering its third season under head coach Jim Ferry and they built up from eight wins to 13 wins in the first two seasons there. Adding recruits like Sanders should help the Dukes continue to compete in the Atlantic 10.
