Sunday was picture day for the Georgia Tech basketball program, as head coach Brian Gregory’s Yellow Jackets donned their new gold uniforms for the team photo. Georgia Tech provided fans with a quick 360 degree view of the uniforms on their Instagram account, with junior guard Marcus Georges-Hunt being the “model.”

The jersey is a good look, especially with the yellow jacket on the back of the uniform, and it’s something that wouldn’t look bad if Georgia Tech had a similar design for its white (home) and navy (road) uniforms.

As for the team that will wear those uniforms in 2014-15, Georges-Hunt is the leading returning scorer for a team that lost four of its top five scorers from a season ago. Robert Carter Jr. transferred to Maryland, with former Maryland big Charles Mitchell joining the Georgia Tech program and he’ll be eligible immediately.

Having Mitchell helps the Yellow Jackets, who also have to account for the graduation of center Daniel Miller. He’s one of three transfers who will join the front court rotation, with Demarco Cox (Ole Miss) and Robert Sampson (East Carolina) being the others. Former Alabama forward Nick Jacobs will be eligible to play in 2015-16.

On the perimeter Georges-Hunt (11.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg) will lead the way, with Chris Bolden and Corey Heyward among the players who factored into the rotation last season. Among Georgia Tech’s five freshmen is guard Tadric Jackson, a four-star prospect who’s talented enough to earn significant minutes this season. Georgia Tech finished the 2013-14 campaign with a 16-17 record, going 6-12 in ACC play.
