N.C. State guard Trevor Lacey was arrested for failing to appear in court. Lacey was scheduled to appear in court for a traffic violation which occurred back in February.

According to Joe Giglio of the News & Observer, on Friday morning, just after midnight, Lacey was stopped by campus police for riding his moped without a helmet. He was then arrested for missing his court date which was set in April. The News & Observer reports that Lacey was in court on Monday and will have to be back in court on Nov. 13 for his second traffic violation.

“We are aware of the situation involving Trevor, and are awaiting the final dispositions of both the legal and university processes,” N.C. State associate athletic director for communication Fred Demarest said in a statement.

The 6-foot-3 Lacey sat out this past season after transferring from Alabama. During the 2012-2013 season with the Crimson Tide, he averaged 11.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.
