Wisconsin landed a commitment from a 2015 forward on Sunday morning as 6-foot-9 Minnesota native Alex Illikainen pledged to head coach Bo Ryan and the Badgers.

The commitment of the three-star forward was confirmed by his coach at Brewster Academy, Jason Smith:

Regarded as the No. 130 player in the 2015 class, according to Rivals, Illikainen averaged 9.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in the EYBL this spring and summer and he shot 43 percent from the three-point line.

After forming a final four that included the Badgers, Iowa, Minnesota and Oregon, Illikainen focused on Wisconsin and Iowa as his final two schools.

Bo Ryan was able to land a sweet-shooting forward who should fit his system well and he was able to get Illikainen done during his official visit.

Illikainen joins four-star shooting guard and Wisconsin native Brevin Pritzl in Wisconsin’s 2015 recruiting class.
