While five-star guard Isaiah Briscoe has received a lot of attention throughout his recruitment, he isn’t the only talented Class of 2015 prospect on the Roselle Catholic (New Jersey) roster. 6-foot-9 power forward Chris Silva fits the bill, with the three-star prospect going through the process of picking a school himself.

According to Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv Silva is less than a week away from making his decision, with there being an announcement ceremony scheduled for next Friday afternoon. The schools still in the running for Silva’s commitment are Rhode Island, Seton Hall and South Carolina. Roselle Catholic head coach Dave Boff told Zagoria the following about his senior power forward:

“His upside/potential is through the roof and his best basketball is ahead of him,” Boff recently told SNY.tv. “When you think about where his game was and that this is his third year of organized basketball, he can end up as a very special player.”

Silva took an official visit to South Carolina this weekend, with the Gamecocks hosting Silva following trips to Rhode Island and Seton Hall. The Gamecocks have one senior in their front court, Carlton Geathers, but with three juniors in their current interior rotation adding another body wouldn’t hurt matters at all.

Rhode Island is in a somewhat similar position, with Gilvydas Biruta entering his senior season and both Jordan Hare and Ifeanyi Onyeakaba being juniors. The Rams have already secured a verbal commitment from 6-foot-8 forward Leroy Butts, so adding Silva to the fold would help matters depth-wise. As for Seton Hall, the Pirates added four freshmen to their front court this season but they will have to account for the fact that Brandon Mobley is entering his senior campaign.
