Jason Holmes played his college basketball at Morehead State before being discovered by scouts from the Australian Football League. He has since moved 10,000 miles away from home to pursue athletic glory on a path rarely taken by our nation’s sporting youth.
Holmes plays for the St. Kilda Saints, who put together a three minute short film on him as their entry in the Virgin Australia Film Festival. The 10 AFL teams are competing for who can make the best film depicting the mantra “Everything’s Possible”.
Holmes isn’t the only former college hooper to make his way overseas to play in the AFL. Former Oklahoma State walk-on Mason Cox, who already moonlighted as a Brittney Griner impersonator for the women’s basketball team, is playing in that league as well.
