Clemson announced on Monday in an official release that reserve forward Ibrahim Djambo is leaving the program.

The 6-foot-10 junior was a native of Mali and transferred into Clemson last season from Three Rivers Community College. Djambo played in 32 games last season and played 9.2 minutes per game.

“We thank Ibi for the hard work he has given to our program over the past year,” Clemson head coach Brad Brownell said in the release. “He was an outstanding student and a great teammate, and I’m sorry to see him leave. We wish him the best in the future.”

Djambo never made a big mark last season as he averaged 1.9 points and 1.4 rebounds per game while struggling from the field. The big man shot 31 percent from the field and 23 percent from three-point range.

“I really appreciated the opportunity to be here at Clemson,” Djambo said in the release. “My reasons for leaving are personal; I really liked my teammates and coaches. Since I’ve been in America, I’ve never been on a team like that, where you were always around everyone else. It created memories I’ll take with me the rest of my life. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

Djambo is the third Clemson player to leave the program this year. Guard Devin Coleman transferred to Temple after first semester and another guard, Adonis Filer, transferred to Florida Atlantic after the season.
