Hawaii lost two staff members late this week as assistant coach Scott Fisher and director of operations Chris McMillian have decided to leave the program for other opportunities in the junior college ranks.
Fisher will be the new head coach at Ohlone College, the school announced in a press release on Thursday. Fisher replaces former longtime Ohlone head coach John Peterson, who took an assistant coaching position under Mike Dunlap at Loyola Marymount this offseason.
A four-year assistant coach for the Warriors, Fisher was also the head coach of the Perth Wildcats in the Australian professional ranks before joining Hawaii.
According to Brian McInnis of the Honolulu Star Advertiser, McMillan will join junior college powerhouse College of Southern Idaho as an assistant coach.
Fisher worked with the team’s post players and had a lot of international connections on the recruiting trail for the Warriors.
Hawaii finished in fourth place in the Big West in 2013-14 with a 20-11 overall mark and going 9-7 in league play.
